The Media Talk

Motion design, Illustration

Animated talk on how media affects self-image and its negative influences on how youth perceive their bodies and self-worth.

The Media Talk is an animated talk on how media affects self-image and its negative influences on how youth perceive their bodies and self-worth. It exists as part of a larger narrative in The Body Talk, a mobile exhibition exploring our relationship with body ideals. View The Body Talk project here

The content for The Media Talk was written with the help of Isabella Sermontikul and Bruce Chao. I re-wrote a modified script for the video and Isabella Sermontikul graciously lent her voice to narrate the project.

The inspiration of the collage-like visuals were inspired by artist Hannah Hoch. The use of collage like photos and stylized imagery ties the overall aesthetic of the animation back to The Body Talk exhibit while retaining its own unique identity.

Special thanks to Beckham Dossett for providing mentorship, criticism and guidance during the creation of this project.
